I am moving on.....a little bit

I am not good at break-ups. I don't handle them well. I usually try to avoid them.

So even though I should have parted with you a long time ago after finding someone new, I still hung on.

Hanging on because I don't want to hurt you and I don't want to feel hurt.

But I know I am not being fair to either of you. I am not able to devote my love and time equally. More often than not, I am confused on who to love more, who I should focus on. As a result, I neglected both of you, prefering to avoid than to confront.

So, I have made up my mind. I can only choose ONE. I can only focus on ONE. Even though it breaks my heart to say this....unfortunately I have to break up with you. It's the best for us. You are my first and will always have a place in my heart.

There you have it my friends, thank you for support to my humble blog all these while. As you can see I have not updated much. And definitely trying to keep 2 blogs does not help. So, I will always have fond memories of http://www.foodmadesimple.blogspot.com/ . You were my first but I am focusing on just my main blogsite http://www.mysimplefood.com/.

Please continue to visit my blog for my culinary and eating adventures.

I have moved!!

I am really not good at break-ups so I am keeping the strings, http://www.foodmadesimple.blogspot.com/ will just be recipes for easy reference. For the full story of the recipes, be on my main blog http://www.mysimplefood.com/.

5 seasonings must haves in my cooking.

Since I started this food recipe blog, I became more aware of my cooking and what I put into my cooking. I also realize that my cooking is pretty basic and I just use a couple of basic must haves ingredients. I love Chinese food best and I think that these are my basic must haves....For a simple meal, if you have these seasonings in the kitchen...you are set for a delicious meal.

1) Salt. This is a no brainer. If you wanna know more about salt, click here.

2) Pepper. This is another no brainer. There are many types of pepper. For Malaysia Chinese cooking, I heard the best is the Sarawak pepper. Any truth? Not sure. Read more about pepper, click here.

3) This is a definite must have! Just a dash here and there in cooking. I use it for marinade on all my meat. I use it as a dip. I don't know what I will do without it. Click here for more info.

4) Oyster sauce. This also goes well for Chinese dishes. Use as a marinade for meat, brings out the sweetness in the meat. Use this when stir-frying vegetables, it is just yum yum. I am using more of this to just bring more taste to my dishes. Click here.

5) Last but not least is Sesame oil. Ohhh!! the strong fragrance of sesame oil. It just add the "oommph" in the cooking. I usually add it at the end of cooking the dish so that the fragance lingers. Infact, when I cook Maggie Mee Chicken Flavour, a dash of sesame oil at the end, wow! brings out a wonderful aroma, you will slurp up every last drop. Click here!

My first MIXER........

For many cook experts and even non cook experts, I know this is nothing but for me...yooohooo!! This is my first baby.......I never owned an electric mixer before and never baked in my life. I've always wanted to and now I can look at baking recipes and hopefully bake some cookies, cakes, breads etc. Hubby-D found this great Kitchen Aid deal on the internet and I was just thrilled when it arrived.
It was kinda heavy...which is great...I think mixers should be heavy, right. Anyway, I am just super happy that I own a mixer. This was 2 months ago.......and since then I have made quite a few successful baking recipes and some not so successful ones :(. Even not so successful, but we have eaten every single thing and nothing have been thrown out yet.
I will be sharing with you soon on my simple baking journey and I discovered it is not that hard after all. Yeah I can't agak-agak on the ingredients when it comes to baking but I think once you get the basics it is quite easy.

Food, food, yum yum food.

I am no chef, I don't refer to recipe books, I cook occasionally and I am also very particular about food (meaning - a lot of food I don't eat) but I enjoy cooking. This food made simple idea came up hoping that it can help more wannabe cooks to try their hands on this art of cooking. Now I call it art cos I sincerely believe that cooking is not science, it does not require strict and complicated formulas. Just feel the food, taste it, enjoy it and then roughly figure out how to cook it. I will be detailing all my simple food conquests whether succeed or fail , you will only know when you try.

Again....I am no chef but I enjoy cooking and sharing how I cook my dishes. This blog will document step by step on how I cook my dishes and even my baking steps. It may turn out and sometimes it may not, so I do welcome comments and suggestions from everyone out there. Let's learn together. Please visit http://www.mysimplefood.com/ for more of my culinary adventures. Contact me at mysimplefood@gmail.com
